What I Did On My Day Off

Here's something for the Photoshop nerds. I did this little experiment to try and create a Photoshop action which will take a line-art drawing with blue wash and turn it into a line-art drawing with a dot screen tone. I tried to make it so that I can pencil in magenta and the pencils will drop out, too - which seems to work. The end result looks a little bit like Billy DeBeck.

Basically, I just want to be Billy DeBeck.

Here's the "Before..."

... and here's the "After."

I think this might have possibilities, not least for creating art very, very quickly that still looks halfway decent. I shall be exploring this further...

  1. Cool. Blue wash only or does this work with blue line pencil shaded in?

    1. I haven't tried that yet. In theory, I should be able to make that work too, but I'll have to do another test to find out.
