Hello. Bit of bureaucratic stupidity to address.

Due to Brexit, a.k.a. "the gift that keeps on giving", Great Britain is not a part of the new EU product safety regulations (known as GPSR) which come into effect on 13th December 2024. To be compliant with the new laws requires businesses, even single operators like me, to have an agent in the EU who takes responsibility for all shipments.

Which, in practice, means that I will no longer be able to sell books and artwork to the EU or Northern Ireland from that date. (The rest of the world is still fine as far as I know, on this matter at least.) 

At this writing, we (that is, any small business or sole trader who ships items to the affected territories) are waiting for further clarification on what exactly is affected – it seems bizarre that books, for example, are required to meet stringent safety standards designed for industrial products – so I'm keeping an eye on the situation and hope there'll be some clearer guidance forthcoming in the near future.

In the meantime, I'll be sending my last shipments to the EU and Northern Ireland on MONDAY DECEMBER 9TH - so if you were thinking of picking up a book, I'd get on to that over the weekend.
