Betty Boop #3
This issue has been out for a week or so now, but I wanted to share the cover here because I was well pleased with it. I did a "Writer's Commentary" about this issue, too - you can read that here.

Kings Cross
I've seen this cover out in the wild now, so I guess it's okay to post here: this is a variant for a new mini-series with the King Features Syndicate heroes, following on from Kings Watch and Kings Quest (and my own Mandrake the Magician series from last year), called Kings Cross. (More info here.)
(Not sure what happened to the apostrophes, but that's the official title, so please direct your grammatical ire at Dynamite Entertainment rather than me; thanks.)
Anyway, I'm not sure when this is coming out (edit: seems to be out in November), as I've got nothing to do with the series proper, but it was a fun cover to do – and it was nice to revisit Mandrake as well. Hope things pick up for the old boy.

Boop-Boop-Be-Doop!
I'm delighted to be able to announce that I'm writing a new Betty Boop comic for Dynamite, with art by Gisèle Lagacé, and a murderer's row of cover artists, including J. Bone and Howard Chaykin. Most exciting! More info about it here.
Here's my own cover for the first issue. Out in October, I believe.

Mandrake!
So it was announced today that I'll be writing a four-issue Mandrake the Magician series for Dynamite, drawn by Jeremy Treece. It spins off from the Kings Watch series by Jeff Parker and Marc Laming earlier this year, building on the events detailed therein – though I'll ensure it's a good jumping-on point as well, if you missed that earlier story and just want to start here. I've read Mandrake since I was a tot, when it was serialised in The Australian Women's Weekly (no, really!), so he's an old friend.
Here's the cover to the first issue, by the phenomenal Mr Darwyn Cooke.

Activities!
The Li'l Dynamites comics are coming out thick and fast at the moment. My own effort, Li'l Ernie, hit the stands last week, and this week we got Li'l Vampi, the kid-friendly spin on Vampirella by (deep breath!) Brandon Jerwa, Art Baltazar, Agnes Garbowska, Eric Trautmann, Molly Mahan, Joshua Cozine, Orion Jerwa, Ken Haeser, Chris Caniano, Katie Hidalgo, Jason Ullmeyer, Josh Johnson, Josh Green, Hannah Gorfinkel, Joseph Rybandt, Keith Davidsen, Rich Young, Juan Collado, Nick Barrucci and Andrew Elder – and also with a couple of activity pages by Yours Truly.
In fact, I did activity pages for all the Li'l Dynamites books. You can see the one I did for Li'l Sonja below... and you can find the whole lot over at Bleeding Cool if you're so inclined.

Little Awful Ernie
So it looks like this has been officially announced: I'm writing and drawing a one-shot kids' comic for Dynamite based on their Evil Ernie franchise. It's called "Little Awful Ernie" (at least it is inside; I think it's just "Li'l Ernie" on the cover) and you can read more about it here. In the meantime, here's a panel I like.
