Good Comics For Kids interview

There's an interview with me up at the Good Comics for Kids site - mainly about Popeye, though we touch on a lot of other things as well. Which reminds me, I turned in the final colour art for Popeye #12 yesterday - very proud of this one.

This sketch was done for Alex Bubenheimer, who looked after me so very splendidly at the Frankfurt Book Fair last year. (Forgive the blurry image; it was taken with my digital camera before I handed the piece over. You might be getting more of that sort of thing in February...)

Non-Canonical Podcast

Hey, those "Best of the Year" articles are starting to pop up, and it looks like Snarked! and Popeye are getting the nod from a couple of them - thank you, folks!

While I have your attention, I would like, if I may, to point you towards the Non-Canonical Comic Podcast - specifically Episode 138, which contains an interview with my good self.

It Speaks!

So, I did an interview with The Hourly Planet recently, and they've just put it up on their site here. Bit of a rambling one, not actively promoting anything for a change, so that was nice. And darned if they didn't find, to accompany the piece,  a Barney Google strip I don't have - after me bragging I had most of 'em!

Stuff and Nonsense

A few things to report! Firstly, there's an interview I did with Graphic Eye about my comics, and comedy generally, here. My thanks to Gavin for an interview that went places other interviews don't reach.

Then, there's the Marvel edition of Meet the Muppets, my first Muppet Show Comic Book collection, which came out this week - in stores now, as they say.

And last but not least, Snarked! #0 is out this Wednesday - only $1, so you have no excuse. None, I tell you! It's a stand-alone teaser to give you a taste of what's coming this October, when the series starts in earnest. Tell your friends - and, if you don't have any friends, for heaven's sake go out and find one!

It's A Cover Up

Here's the cover to Comics Journal 284, hot off the screen (which is to say, I finished it half an hour ago). They may move the illustration down a bit so they can get all the words on.

Back from the Dead

Well, not quite - the daily update thing has long since been abandoned, as you can tell from looking at the date of my last update. This is going to be a sort of news dump for now until I figure out what to do with it.

First on the agenda, and my mind may well change about this before we get there, but I've abandoned plans to do more Doctor Sputnik cartoons for the moment and am instead running some old Fred the Clown stuff, which doesn't appear to be on Modern Tales any more - not sure what happened there, I confess I haven't been paying attention. I blame the children.

Anyway, current plans are to run a few weeks of "Classic Fred", updating every weekday, and then start a new weekly strip on Mondays while continuing the old Fred cartoons Tuesday through Friday.

Got that? Good. So nice to have cleared the air.
