I'm a very proud daddy this week. My seven-year-old daughter asked if she could watch a DVD "for grownups". Once my heart had started again, I showed her Buster Keaton's Steamboat Bill Jr -- and she loved it. And my four-year-old son has been getting me to make pencil sketches for him to trace over for the past few days, essentially so he can practise inking; he calls it "tracing", but that's effectively what he's doing. So, yay kids! I've posted this picture once before, but I thought it deserved a return engagement.
My 5 year old has no interest in drawing whatsoever. I feel like a failure...

You let her get to seven years old before you showed her some Buster Keaton? I'm calling social services.
ReplyDeleteWell, I tried to force Laurel and Hardy on her when she was younger and she wasn't keen. But this time she's the one who asked for it, which makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteSeven?!? Four?!? Wow...it's been entirely too long since we've seen all of you. Thomas was just a twinkle in his mother's eye and Tamsin was toddling around our apartment and babbling in Franglais the last time we saw all of you.
