Your children are also legally New Zealand Citizens by Descent (provided you are NZ by Birth) so if you send a few bucks to the NZ citizenship office you can get them certificates which will allow them to enter NZ at any time and also to apply for NZ passports. I know, we're hopeless, provincial, might as well be Wales, but it's better to have the paperwork before you really need it. Good luck becoming English.
